You are Everything ~ Human Character Lip Sync

Here we have my very first character lip sync and action!
I am very proud with the overall outcome and I look forward to pushing my skills even more in the upcoming animation assignments!

The track used for this lip sync is from the movie Fools Rush In.
I take no credit for the track nor do I own it!

Character Development

For this Character assignment, we were instructed to pic a time period of a culture and create a Hero, Love Interest, Villain and a Comedian character.
I decided to choose China and am basing my characters off of animals and their representation.
Age wise, I might be aiming towards having all of the characters except the comedian to be children because I want to play around with more than just serous adult personalities.
Below are all just concept pieces... the characters are not finalized yet but will be within the next 2 weeks.

Group Storyboard - Verse 9

In our storyboard class we are currently working on a group project.
We were given a song and each team member was given a verse that he or she had to board out.
The boards were then pinned up and pitched as one big storyboard while the song played in the backgroud.

Here is the section I was given, verse 9.
I'll keep the story a secret for now and I'll see if I can get a copy of the group Leica reel ;)
Corrections were done digitally on my piece of the Leica reel.

Here is the Valentines Day gift I gave to my boyfriend today :)
The drawing was sketched in pencil which was then scanned and completely coloured and outlined in Photoshop.

Mr. Red and Gold Dragon

Here is something I haven't done in a while...
After being inspired by a classmate, I decided to take one of my sketches and colour it using my Copic Markers.
Usually I only use my markers for animal life drawings, but I decided to try them out on a drawing.
There were about 12 different markers used to complete this piece.

Digital Exterior Painting

Here we have my first digital painting for the course this year.
We are learning some tricks and such with Photoshop so I tried to apply that within my painting...
I still have a lot to learn in the sense of how to make colours work together on the computer versus traditional, but I feel confident that by the end of the semester I'll have a better understanding.
I decided to keep this very blue and monochromatic so that when I convert it to a black and white image as required for class, I won't run into too many tonal problems.

Lip Sync ~ Mouth Animation

This assignment was meant to be kept simple and we were told to only animate a mouth. I personally really liked that because it gave me the opportunity to sit down and learn how the mouth and tongue move to create sounds.
I am very excited to apply this in my character animation work!
