Caricature Portoflio - 2012

Here is my final for Character class: a caricature portfolio.
Everyone drawn here was sketched from real life and not photograph...
Some are classmates while others are random people at the mall.

I was very happy to see that several of my caricature portfolio pages were kept and will be used for demonstrating what is required for this assignment.

Enjoy!

Leica Reel - I Don't Want It!

Here is my Leica Reel for my original story "I Don't Want It!".
There have been digital corrections done as well as adding in some music and sound effects.
I an not fond of putting my work on youtube, however, this seemed to be the only way to share the reel with you guys! (Blogspot was giving me some trouble)

The reel was originally exported in Blue-Ray format but has been converted to .avi so anyone can watch it on any computer.
I'd like to thank Nancy Beiman for all of her comments and critiques on my boards.

Enjoy!

Doug - 3D Dog Walk Cycle

Here is my 3D Dog walk cycle using the model, "Doug", that was created by a previous Sheridan student.
It was an interesting task because this specific dog model, as far as I was told and experienced, was not rigged for sitting and that was required after the walk. I also found that the way the legs were both built and rigged made it very difficult to animate Doug walking in a realistic way...
Regardless, I'm very proud with this seeing as it is my very first quad walk cycle on Maya.

This animation was featured as a highlite in our class!
If the time in the animation says 0:00 just hit play and it should load

Enjoy!

Painting Final - Layout

Here is the final for our painting class this semester, a layout painting.
The layout used here is actually based off of a place I used to visit a lot when I was a kid with my grandparents. I've been meaning to paint this place for some time now and decided to use this assignment as a trail...
Needless to say I learned that it is very hard to paint a straight line free handed hahaa!

Enjoy!

3D Animation Highlites! ~ Human and Dog Walk Cycles

I was super excited to see that both my human and dog walk cycles were featured as highlites in our 3D animation class!
Sadly I was unable to grab a picture of my human walk cycle on the big screen, but I did manage to get a few of the dog!

These 3D animations should be up for you guys in about 2 weeks!
Keep your eyes peeled and stay 'tooned!

"I Don't Want It!" ~ Original Storyboard

My original story for the theme "I Don't Want It!".
This story is based off of one of my own personal experiences going to the dentist, however, I added some pretty "out-of-whack" stuff to this in order to create a whole new story!
(I accidentally almost back-handed my dentist out of reflex in the face when she poked a cavity of mine with that sharp tool... whoops!)

Regardless, I love this new little adventure and I received a lot of amazing feedback from Nancy Beiman while sketching it up. I have made some digital corrections that will not be found in the scans here, but will be found in the Leica reel that should be up next week!

Enjoy!

Storyboard Paintings

Taking 4 of the storyboards from our original story, we had to paint the scene to show the colour and colouring style our boards would be in if animated.
Each of the chosen boards had to show a different location or a different mood in the setting. I had a lot of fun with these and really enjoyed using a more semi-flat pastel colour palette!

Enjoy!

Layout Layout Layout

Haha, same deal as previously...
We were to take the thumbnails of our professor, draw them to a larger scale and then add tonals with markers to create depth.

I had some trouble trying to read what was what on the thumbnails so I hope things didn't turn out too bad... Always room for improvement!

Enjoy!
