Celebrating Us

I can doodle up some cute things... hehe

Enjoy!

Painting Pieces

Here are 2 things I needed to do for my latest painting assignment.
The first picture is of me experimenting with masking fluid to make stars and the second are colour thumbnails for my final painting.

Enjoy!

Character Project ~ WIP

After a few weeks, we had finally received our first character project!
Woo-hoo!
The project consists of a 3 pose rotation and 3 poses.
The poses have to be of the character bending over to pic up an heavy item, the character holding the item over the waist line and finally the character throwing the item.
At first I was going to attempt to do a character of my boyfriend but was later convinced by him to change ideas.
For this assignment I will be using the young little fella in the overalls.

Enjoy!

Little boy character who will be used for this project.

Sketchbook Work

Here is a weekly dump of sketches from my sketchbook!
This week it features my anteater character, Turk, the crazy Dodo, Popo, and a new edition to the family Jake the young wooly mammoth.

Enjoy!

Qwuzanku ~ WIP

She looks really excited haha!
I wonder what this image is for?
Stay 'tooned to find out!

Enjoy!

Tonals for Painting #1

Here are 3 rough tonals I whipped up for a painting that I will be doing in class.
I tried to keep them loose and quick versus spending hours on a tight drawing.
Images were done in Photoshop.

Enjoy!

Chairs for Layout

For layout class this past week we were asked to bring in sketches of 4 chairs.
Sorry these are so light! I used bright coloured pencils...

Enjoy!

Sketches

Here are a select few sketches from my sketchbook!
The first 2 images are of the character Once-ler from the movie "The Lorax".

Enjoy!

3D Animation ~ Jumping Mushroom

Here we have our first project in 3D Animation.
Our goal was to take this mushroom, which looks very much so like a 1up mushroom from Mario, and make it jump.
We were allowed to imagine the mushroom being made out of any material we desired so everyone has a different looking jump.
This was my first time animating anything 3D and my first time using the program Maya...
Overall, I am very proud of the outcome.

Enjoy!

Here is the fully rendered version

Here is the mushroom in Maya.
I recorded this footage with my IPhone so you may hear people talking in the background.

Story Beats ~ Hector Protector

Here is 2 of 2 Story Beat projects.

Hector Protector was dressed all in green.
Hector Protector was sent to the Queen.
The Queen did not like him; no more did the king.
So Hector Protector was sent back again.

For this poem I decided to really step outside of the box and do something different.
Hector Protector, being our "little" male model, shows off his latest costume to a high end fashion producer and her photographer only to be shot down.

Enjoy!

Poem (c) to it's respectful owner
I do NOT own this poem and I am unsure of the author's name.

Story Beats ~ Bath

Here is 1 of 2 Story Beat projects.

After a bath, I try, try, try
To wipe myself 'till I'm dry, dry, dry.
Hands to wipe, and fingers and toes,
And two legs and a shiny nose.
Just think how much less time I'd take
If I were a dog, and could shake, shake, shake!

I decided to have a bit of fun with this poem!
Here I have my little jungle fella Jake having a bath in a stream side only to be rained on after drying off.

Enjoy!

Sketchbook Work

Happy Thursday everyone!
Here are a few sketches from my latest sketchbook!

Enjoy ~<3

Viking character of mine named Jack.
He was originally designed for storyboard however the idea fell flat.

Super rough and loose layout sketches

My Black Moore fish named Bubbles

WIP drawing of my boyfriend and I.
The two images here would be separate... I decided to save paper and stick them both onto one page.

Onto Year 2 of Animation!

September has finally arrived!
Time to hit up the animation desks once again; year 2 has officially begun!
Just like in my first year, new artwork will be posted here every week (most likely on Tuesdays)!
Stay 'tooned for more personal drawings and projects that will be completed over the school year!

I would also like to take this time to thank everyone for all of their support here on my blog during my first year of animation at Sheridan College!
You guys are amazing and I appreciate all of the kind and encouraging messages you have sent me with regards to my work.
I hope I can continue to produce artwork that you enjoy viewing and I hope to grow more as an artist over this school year.
Thank you very much for everything! Let's have another great and successful year!

Character ~ Old Man

An elderly character of mine used in an assignment from first year animation.
I rather enjoy his design and decided to do a couple sketches of him.

Enjoy ~<3
